Drones in Australia
Currently in NZ where I thought drone rules might be a little more accomodating. At least it is possible to apply for a permit but DoC ranger told me Id have to apply for a permit and that would take "at least 5 days and you wont get one anyway"
. Told me it best to leave your drone at home if you're visiting. It also appears that privacy rules are also quite inhibiting so you MUST get permission before flying over private land. The weather was crap for the first few days so not suitable for droning and any opportunities passed as we moved on each day. Meanwhile, helicopters and light aircraft fly around like blowflies, low and noisy, in the glacier and fjiord regions.
Am I drinking my bath water?
Lately I have been flying a DJI Mini2 without any problems but on the last 2 attempts I keep getting "RC not connected".
Have I done something I shouldn't have, or not done something I should have?????
"I can't seem to get the R/C and the drone to talk to each other.
I haven't messed with anything. It worked on one occasion and wouldn't connect on the next.
Anything I can do [except stop drinking the bath water 😂}
Any help sincerely appreciated as it is very frustrating.
Thanks for sharing this experience and picture @Phil Lodge Quite timely actually as another member has just shared with us their experience in Queenstown which we're about to publish on Wednesday. Could we use your photo to illustrate the risks of flying your drone down there, and where exactly was it taken? Cheers.
